(Cont. from Page 16/11/86A). "Then I saw another beast, which came up out of the earth; it had two horns like a lamb's, but spoke like a dragon. It wielded all the authority of the first beast in its presence, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship this first beast, whose mortal wound had been healed. It worked great miracles, even making fire come down from heaven to earth before men's eyes. By the miracles it was allowed to perform in the presence of the beast it deluded the inhabitants of the earth, and made them erect an image in honour of the beast that had been wounded by the sword and yet lived." The "mortal wound" of the "first beast" occurred in 1348 at the time of the plague of the 'Black Death'. It reduced the labour market by one third, which at that time was at a premium. The burgesses, the 'political cradle' of the "wild beast", were given trading authority and formed various political alliances. From then until now, the "beast" with "two horns like a lamb's" has compelled mankind to worship the unGodly politics of the first "wild beast". Performing such economic "miracles" as commonwealths, the "beast" with "two horns like a lamb's" has deluded mankind so that they worship the "wild beast". And employers (modern-day 'burgesses') preoccupy mankind away from worshipping Jehovah through coordinated economic deprivation, "driving [others] to work". (Isaiah 14:4-6). Using resources "which came up out of the earth" (13:11 NEB) the "beast" with "two horns like a lamb's" has "made them erect an image in honour of the beast... even making fire come down from heaven to earth before men's eyes". (Rev 13:13,14 NEB. See: 16/11/86A). The "two horns" are past and present Scientific (Horn 1) and Industrial (Horn 2) developments. On recently demolished former industrial landscapes in Britain, deluded men erect monuments (images) at places where they were driven to work, to memorialise past industrial endeavours. Industrial chimney stacks are just another example of "making fire come down from heaven to earth before men's eyes." 16/11/86B. |
