AFTER THE IMMINENT CALAMITY,
PURE SPEECH WILL FOLLOW.⁽¹⁾

God is about to pour out His indignation upon gathered nations.⁽²⁾ Those surviving will speak with a "pure speech".⁽³⁾ Concerning this pure speech, it says they will, "utter no lies, nor shall there be found in their mouth a deceitful tongue".⁽⁴⁾ This implies that previously even God's people spoke with the unacceptable speech of lies and deceit.

"NATIONS WILL WORSHIP HIM, EVERY MAN IN HIS OWN HOME".⁽⁵⁾
It is unlikely that the promised pure speech among survivors will immediately follow the "indignation of God", but gradually holy teachings will be received at the "festivals of booths",⁽⁶⁾ set up within every nation after the righteous indignation of His anger has been finally poured out, and at the places where the knowledge of God's Will is to be made known. With this knowledge, families will be able to worship God, "every man in his own home". It also says, "But I will leave in you a people afflicted and poor". This, because "proud and arrogant citizens" (particularly the wealthy) will be removed. (Zeph 3:11,12 NEB).

NATIONS THAT GOD IS NOW STANDING UP TO ACCUSE. (See Zeph Ch.2 & 3).
The burden of the "tyrannical yoke"⁽⁷⁾ upon God's people is to be removed "because of oil",⁽⁸⁾ which will upset worldwide activities of the political "wild beast"⁽⁹⁾ ruling over nations against the expressed Will of God. Moab and Ammon (Jordan today), Cushites (Ethiopians today), Assyria (Iraq and Iran, Babylon today), Nineveh (of Iraq), and the coastland of southern Israel (people of Ashkelon and Gaza today being driven out), are in particular mentioned, but all nations will be involved. Furthermore, as to the nations being gathered for the day of The Lord, the book of 2 Esdras says: "Alas for you, Babylon and Asia! Alas for you, Egypt and Syria! Put on sackcloth and hair-shirt, and raise a howl of lamentation for your sons; your doom is close at hand." (2 Esdras 16:1 NEB). Prophecies of Esdras go on to relate even the order of the wars of God that are about to break out worldwide. (See 2 Esdras 15:28 to 16:2).

GOD IS ABOUT TO "BRANDISH HIS WHIP" AGAINST ASSYRIA.
Tyrants of the nation of Iraq have recently made known prime targets for their attacking forces: They are Israel, and enemy oil fields. Iraq (of Assyria) is a weighty part of Israel's "yoke". But God has prophesied against the Assyrians: "My people who live in Zion, you must not be afraid of the Assyrians, though they beat you with their rod and lift their staff against you as the Egyptians did; for soon, very soon, My anger will come to an end, and My wrath will all be spent. Then the Lord of Hosts will brandish His whip over them as He did when He struck Midian at the Rock of Oreb, and will lift His staff against the River as He did against Egypt."⁽¹⁰⁾

Forces of Iraq (the original place of "Babylon") will as it says be 'blotted out'.⁽¹¹⁾ The River, originating from the uplands of Ethiopia, has already dried up, causing years of drought.⁽¹²⁾ Soon this dryness will affect the Nile of Egypt.
