His armies have even overtaken
their envoys, by means of the sea.

Residents of all the earth are hearing
the desperate nations sounding a signal
upon their mountains.

The great continent, and its nations,
are blowing another loud lament -- of hopelessness.

More robbers are pruning even their scorched harvests,
with jaws like a billion shears;

Ever increasing numbers -- with insatiable
appetites -- they have enveloped now even all of Africa.

They are God's military force, sacrificing
those rejecting still His spiritual nation.

Valueless gods of Egypt He will also give
attention to, through their formers,
and dry up their seedland.

We can hear the din from our
plunderers, like mighty waters,

whose food was taken from their mouths, and
the remains given to the wild beasts of the field.

"Four families" of destruction will leave a small
insignificant people, lowly and afflicted,
offering up a gift to the God of armies.

Finally He will reveal all haughtily exultant ones,
who plundered His Spirit sons.

God has commissioned "four families" of calamity again, against African nations (Jer 15:3): Famine, pestilence, sword and captivity, because their sins are greater than the sins of their forefathers, also against Egypt because of their valueless gods; to let remain a lowly people, offering up a clean gift, namely themselves.
