To recapitulate on the some of the things Augustine said in his book 'City Of God', and the true meaning and fulfilment of 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12: I will begin by stating that the only multitude of people who have fulfilled the "lawless one's presence" (NWT) the final "wickedness...in human form" (NEB) (or Antichrist: Augustine's expression), prophesied by The Christ through the apostle Paul and revealed before the coming of the Day of the Lord, are those unsealed men and women who masquerade today as Jehovah's Witnesses. Only they have fulfilled every detail of 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12:

(1) They provided the "LYING SIGNS AND PORTENTS" over many years, to deceive through unfulfilled predictions and changes they made to the "times and law" of God, attempting to fulfil their own visions of glory with unrighteous teachings of deception, in the "time of the end".

(2) They apostasized and "DEPARTED FROM US" (from anointed ones) after knowing the truth; evident by their means of, and continuing in, unrighteous ostracisms and false teachings.

(3) They REMOVED "THE RESTRAINT" FROM THE SCENE, the restraint against their final wickedness, namely The Christ's authority in the congregations on earth through those who are the temple of God; rejecting admonitions from and removing The Christ's anointed brothers from their congregational responsibilities.

(4) Their wickedness "in human form" (NEB) was "REVEALED" in the "DUE TIME" by the bitter "LITTLE SCROLL" of Revelation Ch.10, before the Day of our Lord. The power of their wickedness was in their ability to conceal it.

(5) They "LIFTED THEMSELVES ABOVE GOD" by sitting in among the anointed temple members of God and PUBLICLY SHOWED THEMSELVES as gods by removing these temple members, standing in their places, and by uttering denunciations against all other religions.

(6) They got to "BELIEVING THE LIE" of their many "lying signs and portents" (predictions and other false "utterances") that they deceptively established over many years. (See "Little Scroll" revealings from 14/12/76).

(7) GOD "LETS AN OPERATION OF ERROR GO TO THEM". They were warned and have now been "JUDGED". The "LITTLE SCROLL" is part of the legal case of God concerning this FINAL REBELLION against Him.

(8) They publicly declared the "verbal message or through a letter as though from us, to the effect that THE DAY OF JEHOVAH IS HERE". (2 Thess 2:2 NWT. Their Bible).

According to Augustine, the effect of the "lying signs and portents" 'will be to draw men into falsehood, in that people will believe that they could only have been achieved by the power of God', 'being unaware of the strength of the Devil, and especially his strength when he has received such power as he never before enjoyed'. One example of this was the publicized words from their man Roger Morgan, concerning the new apostate elder arrangement of "disgusting things", when he declared: 'THIS IS GOD'S DOING'. (See their 1975 Yearbook. Pages 248 & 250).

Although I intimated that Augustine confuses the Antichrist of 1 John 2:22 with the apostate "man of lawlessness" of 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, those directly responsible and those giving their support to the removal of anointed ones from the scene are also antichrists but in more subtle ways to such Trinitarians as Catholics. 'Anointed ones' means 'Christs' (plural), and 'Anti' means 'opposed to, against, in exchange, instead, and rivalling'. Hence they are opposed to and are unGodly rivals of the sons of God. One may ask, 'What will all this mean for these apostates? That those who are still unable to see their composite 'LIE' and repent over their errors will PERISH in body and spirit during the coming Day of the Lord.
