At times, it was quite understandable that it became impossible for me to define who these people worshipped -- instructions from members of their 'governing body', or Almighty God.
After the many failures of their prophetic dates, it soon became clear that they had adopted a new practice. They built safeguards into further prophetic presumptions; "double faced" visionaries I called them. The author of 'Visions of Glory' states: (('In spite of their modest claim that they do not know "the day and the hour", they have nevertheless led their followers to believe in at least five apocalyptic dates... Sociologists who have examined the phenomenon of apocalyptic religions have found that almost no religion survives three false dates...Hope deferred, says the psalmist "maketh the heart sad"')) (Pg.27).
According to their fabricated 'anointing' (as true Spirit anointing is from God and it teaches correctly), God began His rule in 1914, when their 'Gentile Times' ended. Then Christ would take up power in heaven. (See Pg.26). They were proved wrong. However, the truth borne out by real evidence since then concerning the 'Gentile Times' (otherwise known as the "appointed times of the nations"), in reality proved to be the period when their own "trampling" and "shifting" of true anointed sons of God took place. From 1972 it began, by their apostates giving responsibilities of God on earth to those men idolizing them, in the houses of their "intense lovers." (Zech 13:6. See their 1975 Yearbook declaring the "shifting" of responsibilities). It was carried out by those falsely calling themselves Jehovah's Witnesses, causing for themselves their prophesied "desolation"; being without God's Spirit through His human Spirit channels for His communications during that period, and since then.
All this, leads me to answer the author's question: (('Why this tenacity of belief? What needs does this religion gratify?')). (Pg.27). It was for the purpose of seeking out, to remove and finally destroy, God's anointed sons, using their spiritually rapacious "ravenous wolves" ('elders') (Matt 7:15), adopting their new so - called 'elder' arrangement offered to unsealed ones to mistreat God's flock. This was the whole point of their work, toward this final act.
THEIR HUMAN IDOLS ARE WHAT YOU MUST NOW LEAVE FOR SPIRIT BURNING.
The only way that the prophesied exterminating spirit of burning from God is removed from the ones experiencing it, is by their "taking hold of the skirt of a Jew", thereby correcting the lofty things that they have raised up against the knowledge of God; knowledge still being taught through His anointed ones. This knowledge is the "LITTLE SCROLL", now to be served up to you through one stammering with his lips, with "harsh cries and raucous shouts". (NEB). Make your preparations for him to speak. Stubbornness will only burn you.
As to the name for the people of God, it is Hephzi-bah (that is: MY DELIGHT IS IN HER). And our land is called Beulah (that is: WEDDED). (Isaiah 62:4 NEB).
