"FOR JEHOVAH WILL RISE UP JUST AS AT MOUNT PERAZIM". (Isaiah 28:21).
JEHOVAH DIRECTS US TO "GO AROUND TO THE REAR OF THEM" (2 Sam 5:23)
TO EXPOSE THEIR IDOLS, I AM GOING "TO THE REAR OF THEM".
On the 4th of August a man with a literal "stammering tongue" brought to me a book called 'VISIONS OF GLORY' -- 'A history and a memory of Jehovah's Witnesses', written by Barbara Grizzuti Harrison, who was for many years a proof reader for the Watchtower Committee at their headquarters.
While I denounce this woman for attempting to teach some of the scriptures in her writings (a God - given prerogative only to certain men), she has nevertheless attempted to truthfully describe some of her personal experiences while among the sect of those who set themselves up to be called Jehovah's Witnesses. (All comments of B.G. Harrison are in ((double)) brackets).
Her observations are really controlled 'shoutings' of frustration against the unloving and unbearable coldness of members of this sect, particularly prevalent among their unqualified 'elders', which still permeates (('that stale dry religion (which was a form of servitude)')). (Pg.222).
The following are some chosen quotations from her observations, typical of their insensitive dispositions lacking in natural affection. These I also encountered while in the company of their so-called 'elders', from their families at meetings, and even when we preached with them from house to house. To bear this constant coldness, while at the same time preaching God's love, saddens and contorts the human spirit until it becomes unbearable. It was the reason why this woman finally, and wisely, freed herself from them.
By referring to their historical "rear", I am in like manner fulfilling the physical counterpart of King David, of his going to their rear at Mount Perazim, because "Jehovah has broken through my enemies ahead of me, like a gap made by waters". For we are desirous of seeing their idol overseers 'burned' by God's Spirit "waters", for the reason that they are a people who have "gone astray in your seeing" and do not have love among them. (Isaiah 28:7).
(Note: I am now going "to the rear of them" in point of time, recalling their actions and events of the past).
On Page 201 the author admits: (('it would be because God didn't live in my religion. If He lived at all. He lived somewhere else (not in my heart)')).
Speaking again in this vein, she throws more light, but through her sadness: After talking with gusto about his delight in being able to go from door to door again, one of their members called Mike, who had a weak heart, began to gasp for air, he was dying of a heart attack. But a respected elder, instead of helping him, launched into an interminable story about the people he had known who had been taken unaware by death: (('"I knew someone else who died like that," he said, looking at Mike.')) (Pg.201). (('his concern was to keep Mike's daughter from going overboard with immoderate grief... "See if you can take Mike's daughter out preaching with you tomorrow morning," he said. "It'll keep her mind from selfishness"')). (Pg.202). This is living proof of an elder existing only in the heartless abundance of uncaring words. At this point, it would be wise for you to read 1 Corinthians 13:1-3.
Even the Christ answered those who questioned him, but your idols view it as a threat to their integrity: (('Nobody ever told me that all believers doubt, or that the logical consequences of the possession of free will is to question')) (Pg.202). I also discovered that they found this to be totally unacceptable among them. They said that this is 'undermining' them (an expression that certainly 'rings a bell' among the local congregation as to my own case).
