As I have previously stated, Augustine has taught a great deal of error. But I am now going to use one of his well-thought out passages:

'The demons, for their part, seek to ensure that they will be so enticed by men; and they do this by first misleading human beings by their subtle cleverness, either by breathing a secret poison into their minds, or even by appearing to them in the deceptive guise of friends, making a few of them disciples of their own, and teachers of very many others. For it would be impossible for men to discover, without previous instruction from the demons themselves, the different likes and aversions of the various demons, the names by which they are to be invoked or compelled to do man's will. Hence comes the first appearance of the magic arts and their practitioners. But their most effective hold upon the hearts of mortals (and it is in the possession of them that they especially glory) is gained when they transform themselves into angels of light.' (From 'City Of God'. Bk. XXI Ch.6).

The expression "angels of light", implies the kind of spiritual 'light' which The Christ preached for our salvation. Therefore, people turning to God need to be made aware of the need for testing their friends and other associates, in order to reveal whether or not they have been recipients of the breaths of 'secret poison into their hearts' from so-called practising demon angels of light in human form. Also, whether they are being prepared to receive the greater parts of the satanic design which are specious to unenlightened ones, the indoctrinations that demon angels use to transform humans into angels of light, using the minds and speech of their human servants on earth to envelop new converts.

Firstly, we thank our God that we have the unchangeable light of truth from His Holy Word to test them with. Secondly, we acknowledge that false angels of light have need of a great number of subjects, and these must gather in new converts for this work to continue effectively on a worldwide basis. Thirdly, that evil demons who transform their dispositions into human angels of light had to make gradual but subtle changes to the "times and law" of God⁽¹⁾ in the minds of apostates first, then in the minds and hearts of those they are converting to apostasy; in order to set up the throne of glory that satan cleverly works at establishing for himself. A clear example of this was in the change satan's human servants made to the law of God through The Christ for his holy congregations⁽²⁾. They could not change the already established written law of God in billions of Bibles, so satan's servants made subtle changes in their interpretations of it instead -- even giving women 'angels of light' the authority to teach men inside and outside of the congregations. But what a wonderful way satan and his demons have provided God for separating unfaithful people with apostate hearts and those whose faith is neither "cold" nor "hot" toward God⁽³⁾ from those who hold onto the unchangeable truth because they love it. By this means His servants prove they love only the ways of God and His Christ.
