THE SECOND LETTER OF JOHN.
Consider the scripture: "ANYONE WHO RUNS AHEAD TOO FAR, AND DOES NOT STAND BY THE DOCTRINE OF THE CHRIST, IS WITHOUT GOD...IF ANYONE COMES TO YOU WHO DOES NOT BRING THIS DOCTRINE, DO NOT WELCOME HIM INTO YOUR HOUSE OR GIVE HIM A GREETING; FOR ANYONE WHO GIVES HIM A GREETING IS AN ACCOMPLICE IN HIS WICKED DEEDS." (From 2 John V.9-11 NEB).
REGARDING DISOBEDIENT FAMILIES.
God commanded: "Honour your father and your mother, that you may live long in the land which the Lord your God is giving you." (Exodus 20:12 NEB).
But what if fathers and mothers of true christian sons and daughters do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as having come in the flesh? (2 John V.7 NEB) (meaning, as having already come, and providing mankind with the saving way to gain everlasting life). Or, what if after knowing "the way" they run ahead of the true doctrines of The Christ? Should we welcome them into our homes, or say a greeting to them? IN BOTH CASES WE SHOULD NOT. This is for the reason that we do not want to be judged out from everlasting spirit life for being wicked accomplices of wicked behaviour against the righteous principles of the Son of God.
REGARDING THOSE WHO RUN AHEAD. SOME EXAMPLES:
(1) By acting as God, one prominent member of a religious sect did proclaim to all the people in attendance at a religious meeting --and made it known worldwide thereafter-- that those present at that gathering were all anointed ones from the moment he proclaimed it to them. He was thereby acting as a god.

This sect also falsely proclaimed: "THE PRINCES ARE HERE!" -- teaching that the actual future "princes"(3)
This sect brought about the "SHIFTING" of the responsibilities of anointed ones (thereby removing(4)
They falsely proclaimed the actual year of the end of the present system of things and the beginning of the new.(5)
They give women authority over men, and an allowance to teach.The scriptural period of "2,300 evenings and mornings" was appointed by our Lord to reveal these wicked men just before the Second Coming by Spirit of our Lord, exposing those who were running too far ahead, and to refine the innocent. (Dan 8:13,14). It is important to understand that a person cannot be deemed to have run ahead of The Christ if that one had not first understood the doctrines of The Christ. Those who have "run ahead" are not motivated by christian love, but are seeking glory; not for God, but to create "lovers" of them, to be glorified by them. Do you associate with either kind?
AHEAD: Forward or onward rapidly; headlong; also fig. unrestrainedly. (Oxford Dictionary).
As well as the foregoing, there are many more recorded examples of this religious sect falsely calling themselves Jehovah's Witnesses, who have proclaimed worldwide more incorrect prophetic statements regarding fulfilments of Scripture --using the Scriptures erroneously to do so-- than any other 'christian' religion on earth. It proves that this sect no longer have God in their lives. (See 2 John V.9). As to the majority of their members who listened and continued to serve those human 'voices' inspired of demons, before, during, and after the "2,300 evenings and mornings", they are no less guilty than the initiator who acted as God by falsely declaring himself and others as being anointed servants of God.
