"WHEN THAT DAY COMES": THE PROPHECY
OF ISAIAH Ch.19 (NEB) IN FULFILMENT.
WHY THE NILE OF EGYPT
WILL DRY UP IN SACRIFICE.
THE SIGNAL FROM GOD.
(ISAIAH
18:1-7).
EGYPT: THE EXAMPLE FOR MANY NATIONS.
The Will of Almighty God in
connection with the signal of His coming will ultimately result in a blessing
"upon Egypt My people, upon Assyria the work of My hands, and upon Israel
My possession" in "the centre of the world". (19:25). To bring this
about, our invisible God has prophesied what He will do. It has begun!
The rivers of Ethiopia, the source of the river Nile, are drying up. Next, will
be the Nile itself. Then God says: "I will set Egyptian against
Egyptian". (19:2). "Egypt's spirit shall sink within her". (19:3).
"The Lord has infused into them a spirit that warps their judgement". (19:14).
The unfolding of these events is so that "the idols of Egypt quail before Him".
(19:1). "When that day comes there shall be an altar to the Lord in the
heart of Egypt". (19:19). It will be a spiritual "altar", for them to "do
Him service with sacrifice", to "make vows to Him and pay them" (19:21),
that they may renounce their unclean spiritistic practices in their obedience to
the God of spiritual Mount Zion.
The striking of Egypt with a literal and
spiritual drought, is so that through the events that follow, Egyptians
acknowledge the worthlessness of false gods, and turn back to Jehovah. And, on
hearing their prayers, that "He may send a deliverer (The Christ Michael) to
champion their cause, to rescue them, that they may be healed in spirit.
(19:19-22).
THE SOURCE OF THE NILE, AND THE FULFILMENT OF
THE PROPHECY.
Northeast Africa, the Sudan, and
Ethiopia, are the sources of the Nile and its Delta. But while the Nile Delta
occupies just 3% of Egypt's land, 95% of the population live there, currently
around 45,000,000. Much of the African subcontinent is suffering drought (to
date almost three years). Ethiopia has suffered 10 years of drought, a death
rate of 7,000 persons each month, and the death toll is rising.
Nubians (Ethiopians) and Sabaeans will see both
the confusion and the worthlessness of Egypt's false gods, and will come over to
the sons of Mount Zion's God. (Isaiah 45:14,15. Isaiah
19:3) (Isaiah 18:2). They will worship the One who has given evidence of
His sovereignty: Almighty God. His drying up of the Nile will expose the
impotence of their false gods, and the creators of them their
old and honoured men, false prophets, during their "day of incurable pain".
(19:3,13,14.
17:10,11).
"When that day comes", Egyptians will erect a
spiritual "altar" in their hearts. (19:19-22). Making excuses for
the impotence of their worthless false gods while waiting for rain to replenish
the Nile and its tributaries is futile, for our God has promised that it will
dry up.
How many of you will God heal?
