THE 'CONTEMPTIBLE CREATURE'. (NEB).
The "creature" described in Daniel 11:21 is
not one person, but symbolises many.
These contemptible "creature"(s) came to prominence after the death of the king
described in Daniel 11:20;
namely, the Shah of Iran. These men are contemptuous of all others, particularly
of those nations over whom they seize power "by dissimulation and intrigue in
time of peace." But though gaining control of many nations by this means, on
pitching his "royal pavilion" between the "sea" of mankind and spiritual Mount
Zion ("the fairest of all hills") satan meets "his end with no one to help him."
(11:45).
THE CONTEMPTIBLE CREATURE(S) OF TERROR.
(11:21,22).
These leaders of terror are completely under
satanic control. They are: Arafat in Palestine and southern Lebanon (the
"fairest of all lands".
11:16); Begin and Shamir in Israel
(the "fairest of all hills". 11:45 NEB);
Sadat in Egypt; Gadaffi in Libya; Khomeini in
Iran; Hussein in Iraq. At first, the people behind them are but
few. (11:23). All these have done satan's bidding, through whom satan has
exalted and magnified himself above every god and object of men's worship;
until through them he utters monstrous blasphemies against Jehovah God Himself.
Those whom satan has favoured he has advanced to high honour, making them rulers
over the masses and distributing spoil, booty and property to his followers. (11:24,36,37).
"WHAT IS DETERMINED" (11:36
38 NEB):
What is determined is the defined separating
of the Godly from the unGodly. But while the unGodly succumb to these
contemptible "creatures", anointed "wise leaders" guide the beloved people of
God in the true path.
(11:33-35).
At the arrival of the
righteous Kingdom of God, these "contemptible creature"(s) will be spiritually
awakened to know the full extent of their spirit rejection of God, and will
experience the shameful reproach of being an eternal abhorrence before Him.
(12:2).
THE "ABOMINABLE THING". (11:32).
The "abominable thing that causes desolation"
is the elaborate religious apostasy that was set up by satan to disperse the
power of holy anointed people of God. (12:7). By October 1972 the
"abominable thing" had been implemented in Christ's congregations, and in
January 1979, after 2,300 evenings and mornings had elapsed
(8:13,14), the "contemptible creature" Khomeini rose to power.
The "times" of Daniel chapter 12 elapsed after the "abominable thing" of
unsealed 'elders' were appointed in rejection of, and to remove, anointed
"temple" sons of God. But without these anointed channels of God's Spirit
communications, these apostate congregations are left spiritually desolate.
