(Cont. from Page 11/3/86). JOEL. (6). (THE FULFILMENT). "A DOWNPOUR"
OF "AUTUMN RAIN AND SPRING RAIN". (2:23). The Spirit of our God will be poured upon people of Zion "as at the first". His Spirit (like rain*) will now be provided to produce "new wine", "oil" and cleansed "grain"; which means a new spirit of joy. These blessings will be sent by Jehovah to compensate all faithful servants within His spiritual "land" whose joy and gladness "as at the first" ceased for a specific number of years (1:16) while "locust"-like anointed ones "devoured" teachings of demons existing in apostate congregations falsely claiming to be of the spiritual "land" of God. Our Heavenly Father Jehovah will soon provide new spiritual "food" along with instructions for its use. Mankind had to wait upon the fulfilment of certain prophecies from God ("as at the first") through sons of Zion in times past, and which now make up the Holy Word from God (The Holy Bible). But Jehovah has promised to recompense His servants with spiritual "food" for our restoration, to be poured out by Spirit each autumn and spring. These Spirit outpourings from God will be for our instruction at the proper time (Matt 24:45-47), for the creation of our spirits to produce good "fruitage" in seasons of refreshing. (Joel 2:23 NEB* and NWT+ footnotes). In that day, "sons" and "daughters" of spiritual Mount Zion will prophesy. But while sons will be able to openly express their advanced spirit knowledge from God, daughters must still conform to the headship arrangement and privately relate the prophecy to a spiritually qualified male to publicly interpret the prophecy. (1 Cor 14:34-37). The Spirit "downpour" will first be upon "sons of Zion" (2:23), upon obedient male offspring of Spirit anointed sons of the heavenly Kingdom of God (Isaiah 61:8,9), and will be after the period in which apostate covenant-leavers formerly of His "vine" are set as an "object of astonishment". (1:2-7). Some of the "cleansed grain" will be the result of refining work carried out by anointed "locusts" within the spiritual "land" of God, their legal case contributing to the just removal of all spiritistic practices and their perpetrators. By the new Spirit and knowledge from Jehovah and the removal of reproach and shame to time indefinite we will know that He is present in "Israel". (2:27). "In that time" when Jehovah is bringing back the "captive ones" of spiritual "Judah" and "Jerusalem", He will also gather all the nations to a spiritual "place" of judgement ("Jehoshaphat") on account of their treatment of His people and His heritage spiritual "Israel". (3:1,2). As for the apostate northerner# the "disgusting thing" "standing in a holy place" (Matt 24:15) known as the "man of lawlessness", they will be removed from His people into a parched and desolate place. (2:20). Their# downpour will be one of justice in full flood, of "wasting with sickness, yet overflowing with righteousness" for spiritistically "trampling" upon holy ones of God (Dan 8:13,14). This Spirit from God separates the "weeds" from the "wheat". (Isaiah 10:17-23) (See: 10:22 NEB footnote). The drawing near of the fear-inspiring Day of Jehovah (without the opportunity through faith that previously existed for salvation) will certainly arouse the nations. Knowledge of their spirit uncleanness, previously hidden from sight, will progressively be exposed nakedly to the light. (Rev 16:15). Those without righteous "garments" will feel increasingly exposed by the Spirit of His judgement and anger "upon the air". (Rev 16:17).
