WHY "THE FORTIFIED CITY IS LEFT SOLITARY".
"The fortified city is left solitary,
and His quarrel with her ends in brushing her away [dismissing her], removing
her by a cruel blast when the east wind*
blows; it is a homestead stripped bare, deserted like a wilderness;
there the calf grazes and there lies down, and
crops every twig. Its boughs snap off when they
grow dry, and women come and light their fires
with them. For they are a people without sense;
for the nation heed not God The "fortified city" are unfaithful covenant-leavers and apostate JW congregations of the "disgusting thing" throughout the world "standing in a holy place". (Matt 24:15). Jehovah has said He will wage war upon these "briars" and "thorns" and "burn" them up. (27:4 NEB). When one man was killed and seventy injured in a blast at a JW congregation in Sydney Australia on July 21st 1985, apostate gatherings of the "disgusting thing" were served due notice by this "scare cry" from heavenly Mount Zion. (27:8 NWT). For it will be by a cruel Spirit "blast" from Jehovah Himself that will cause these apostate congregations to become like a "homestead "stripped bare, deserted like a wilderness". (See: Page 25/4/86B). The "boughs" are false prophecies and apostate teachings of unfaithful covenant-leavers that "grow dry" because they fail to come to fruition and are fit only for "burning". Because the sect of JWs as a "nation" does not heed God, and reject the truth of His Holy Word revealed through faithful Spirit anointed sons of God, women members of this sect do not have spiritual discernment, and so fail to appreciate the fearful consequences of false prophecies and apostate teachings of the "disgusting thing" that fail to come to fruition. Their not being fulfilled proves that this sect is not inspired of God, and signals their abandoned spirit condition before Him! To further prove "they are a people without sense" (27:11 NEB), not only do these women remember the "dry" "boughs" of unfulfilled prophecies and false teachings published by JWs in books and magazines fit only to "light their fires with", they still permit their offspring (their "calves") to spiritually "feed" on the remaining "twigs" of apostate teachings!
""Now I will rise up," says Jehovah, "now I
will exalt Myself; now I will lift Myself up. You people conceive dried grass;
you will give birth to stubble. Your own spirit, as a fire, will eat you up
(a wind* like fire shall devour you.
NEB).
And peoples must become as the burnings of lime. As thorns cut away, they
will be set ablaze even with fire. Hear you men who are far away, what I
must do! And know, you who are nearby, My mightiness. In Zion the sinners
have come to be in dread; shivering has grabbed hold of the apostates:
'Who of us can reside for any time with a devouring fire? Who of us can reside
for any time with long-lasting conflagrations?'"
(Isaiah 33:10 Only when the "fortified city" of unfaithful covenant-leavers and apostate JW congregations is left solitary and "deserted like a wilderness" (27:10 NEB), will Jehovah gather those "lost in Assyria" and "dispersed in Egypt", who belong to His spiritual "land" of "Jacob", to worship Him in "Jerusalem".
