"Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what sharing does light have with darkness?... Or what portion does a faithful person have with an unbeliever? And what agreement does God's temple have with idols? For we are a temple of a living God..."'Therefore get out from among them, and separate yourselves,' says Jehovah, 'and quit touching the unclean thing; and I will take you in. And I shall be a father to you, and you will be sons and daughters to Me, says Jehovah the Almighty." (From 2 Cor 6:14-18 NWT).

THE YOKE OF UNBELIEVERS, TOUCHING THE UNCLEAN THING.
An unbeliever is a person who after hearing the counsel of God has chosen to ignore it by not obeying this counsel in their lives. The carrying of an uneven load with an unbeliever could in time --by the spiritual weight of it-- tire out a believer, causing him to live (carry) the unclean load of the unbeliever himself; plainly evident in that one again living an unclean life, from the standpoint of God.

An unbeliever is not one who is completely ignorant of the fine and acceptable requirements of God for him. But he is one who has been given sufficient counsel from God, having understood it, but who then disregards it as of no account, preferring to go on touching the unclean things in his life. So he does not progress any further in the day of "small things".

Today there are many unclean things to be cleansed out of people's lives, before God 'takes one in as a son.' Most people suffer greatly in their spirit and in their deep emotions because of this very thing: that they are not at peace with God. Therefore, they are not free in their daily lives, nor are they at peace, with confidence in their inner self, their spirit self. Consequently, they are not in harmony with God.

Now if a man has lived all of his life to its end without having been made a son of God, then he has suffered all of his life for nothing. How sad.
