885A. "LOOK! I AM SENDING TO YOU PEOPLE ELIJAH Past 'shadows' (scriptural events of the past), and their spiritual realities THE SHADOW: Elijah tells Ahab: "As Jehovah the God of Israel before whom I do stand is living, there will occur during these years neither dew nor rain except at the order of my word!" (1 Kings 17:1).THE REALITY: Concerning the spirit of Elijah before the coming of the great and fear-inspiring day of Jehovah, there has recently been a period of years and months during which people have not received from Jehovah spirit-forming life-giving instructions, only denunciations. (Zech 12:1) (Dan 8:19. 9:27B). Not even "dew". In fact, only "ostracism upon (spiritual) "Israel" (1 Kings 18:17,18), because "Ahab" types today have left the commandments of Jehovah and went following baal worship instead. (Baal: Master, husbandly owner).THE SHADOW: Accordingly, Jehovah sends Elijah away to the torrent valley of Che'rith for concealment, where he was to receive drink, "and the ravens I shall certainly command to supply you food there." (1 Kings 17:3,4). "But it came about at the end of some days that the torrent valley became dry." (V.7).THE REALITY: At the specified place and time, in concealment from "Jezebel" types, Spirit anointed servants of God with the same work before them "kept drinking" in knowledge of the Will of God against baalists, and were fed in the "wilderness" by God's heavenly "woman". (Rev 12:14. 17:5,6). Interestingly, this writer with the spirit of Elijah took up dwelling in Cwmbran. The name Cwmbran means: Crow Valley. (Raven: crow kind. Oxford Dictionary). But certain ones with baalist natures become aware of the spiritually dry conditions in their locality, particularly within themselves. (Prov 11:17). Many of these "Ahab" types were sent to Cwmbran.THE SHADOW: In Zarephath, Elijah met a widow, and requested from her a "sip of water" and a "bit of bread in your hand". She declared, "here I am gathering up a few pieces of wood, and I must go in and make something for myself and my son, and we shall have to eat it and die." (1 Kings 17:10-12). Elijah ordered that she make him a "cake first", "and you must bring it out to me, and for yourself and your son you can make something afterward." (V.13). For Jehovah had told Elijah that the flour and oil "will not fail until the day of Jehovah's giving a downpour upon the surface of the ground." (V.14).THE REALITY: The "sip of water" and "bit of bread in your hand" symbolise worldly provision, and knowledge of this world's woman-like organisations needing correction. (Dan 11:17). In accordance with the spirit of Elijah, anointed sons of God know the refining work they have to do ("because of them". Dan 11:35) concerning false teachings of such organisations. And just as Elijah was fed by angels of God, God's heavenly "woman" feeds those with the spirit of Elijah. (Rev 12:14). The "cake" symbolised the future reality of those partaking of the Lord's evening meal, those that are given spiritual knowledge first. This widowed "woman" without a husband (namely, without The Christ) and her sick "son" are about to spiritually die because of their lack of faith in Jehovah's Word in the mouth of 'Elijah' "as true". (1 Kings 17:24) (Gal 4:30,31).(Cont. on Page 885B). 17/10/82. |
