THE BASIC PURPOSE WHY THE CHRIST JESUS
INSTITUTED HIS "MEAL".
"…but a new
creation [is something]." (From Gal 6:15). This "new creation" begins as earthly
persons, who by Holy Spirit from God are individually cleansed of that
"superfluous thing, badness" (James 1:21), by obedience to His Spirit. And, "his
circumcision is that of the heart by Spirit, and not by a written code. The
praise of that one comes, not from men, but from God." (From Rom 2:29).
THE WORK OF THOSE CALLED A "NEW CREATION."
Under the old covenant, God gave hope to sinful
people through the administration of His laws, written as a code on stone
tablets. It was glorious because His laws were a tutor toward the successful
conclusion of that first covenant by the people; that by their obedience
to these laws they might live partway toward the ultimate goal of a righteous
incorruptible life. We now know that this chosen fleshly nation failed. (Heb
8:6-10). So Jehovah God, through His Son, initiated a new covenant (agreement)
by which persons may gain everlasting life through His administrations by
Spirit. (2 Cor 3:4-10). The administration of righteousness cannot be achieved
by laws consisting in decrees, so even if the Jews had concluded the old
covenant successfully, they would not have achieved the ultimate purpose of God.
And so it is in this respect that the glory of the administrations of the Spirit
surpasses the former glory of the commandments of God delivered to Moses for
fleshly Jews.
It is through The Christ's
administrations that Jehovah creates the first of His "new creations":
Spiritual "Jews", also described as Spirit anointed, sanctified sons
of Almighty God. These "new creations" became "something" (as
opposed to animalistic men lacking spirituality) by the Holy Spirit of God
helping to rid them of inherited badness. It is only through the spiritual
outworking of badness by His Spirit (with which He anoints and finally seals the
total number of the spiritual "body" of The Christ) that they gradually become
"something". This does not give these members of Christ's "body" a
distinguished position over others, one of their own origin and making, (only
the accurate knowledge they acquire from God as to what constitutes
righteousness does), for in their Adamic sinful state, without the sanctifying
Spirit of God, they would have remained as 'nothing' before Him as to the hope
of everlasting incorruptible life.
"THE PRAISE OF
THAT ONE COMES,
NOT FROM MEN, BUT FROM GOD" -- WHY?
It is because these spirit sons of God
administer to the people what they have been taught by the Spirit (Christ's
righteous teachings), which serve to remove spirit badness from within the
hearts of the people, that has ultimately led to their being despised, excluded,
"trampled" on, and removed. But anyone taking steps toward baptism without their
corrective administrations are making vows to God merely with their mouths. For
without making the necessary spirit readjustments in their lives in their
service to God and His Son, according to what is administered to them by the
Spirit through Christ's anointed brothers, rebellious ones are merely conducting
a mock baptism "for the sake of being dead ones" (1 Cor 15:23‑29), for they are
not being truly subjected.
PAUL'S WORDS TO THE CORINTHIAN
CONGREGATION ABOUT THE "MEAL".
Paul, in his letter to the Corinthian
congregation said: "Therefore, when you come together to one place, it is
not possible to eat the Lord's evening meal." (1 Cor 11:20). And he meant
exactly that, because of their spiritual aspect. And the reasons for this still
exist among the sect of JWs today, which stem from women not obeying
"THESE INSTRUCTIONS"
(V.17); God-given instructions through The Christ concerning the
headship arrangement. Such women today work to fulfil their personal desire
for glory from others by teaching and exercising authority over men. (1 Cor
14:34-37. 1 Tim 2:11-14). They should instead be giving glory first to God, then
to The Christ, then in turn, by their subjection to man as to the Lord as
a helpful complement and glory of him; not over
him by deceptive means. The only glory a woman has is her long hair as an
outward sign and proof to others of her obedience to the headship arrangement.
For evidence of these things read 1 Corinthians 11:3-17, which are
"THESE INSTRUCTIONS"
to which Paul was referring.
