Verse 4 of 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2 teaches us where satan's people with their powerful works are to be located: Near the temple of God. In 1 Corinthians 3:9,16,17 it conveys who the temple of God is: Spirit anointed sons of God that have His laws in their hearts. (Heb 10:16). In the Greek Interlinear Translation it conveys the exact location of satan's people: In  "the  Divine  habitation of the God", which can only mean those who have apostatized themselves away from the cleansing Spirit of their anointing from God. Now it is clear that Paul was not making reference to the numerous forms of false worship that were already openly carried on up until that time. And although he said, "the mystery of this lawlessness is already at work", it was not fully revealed in his time.

The important question is the reason for their powerful work of "lying signs and portents". The answer: So that satan can lift himself up over everyone called god or an object of reverence and publicly show himself to be a god. But fashioning himself over God through the use of apostate covenant-leavers in his attempt to prove God a liar will be brought to nothing by The Christ. For satan to fulfil his ambition, he considered it necessary to make some changes, using deceptive elements of persuasion. This he was able to do after God had allowed an operation of error to go to these apostates as a retribution. For as a "son of destruction", satan is "set in opposition" to the "seed" of God's "woman", to destroy if possible even the chosen ones, as in the following examples of opposition:

(1) Teaching worldwide that the final gathering of anointed "sealed" ones of God ended around 1935 (Hab 2:9,10), with the intention to change the "times and law" of God (Dan 7:25) and deject the hearts of those still being gathered after that date. (Ezek 13:22).

(2) Teaching an allowance for women (man's glory) to teach God's glory, man. Teaching a lying sign of authority over men, namely, the wearing of a headcovering in order to teach. This is a lying sign and a changing of God's law (1 Cor 14:33-37), as a woman's headcovering is a regulation from God against women teaching and/or exercising authority over men.

(3) Their teaching concerning the 3½ times, the 1,335 days and the 2,300 evenings and mornings. Also, their interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar's vision of "seven times themselves will pass over it" to mean God's Kingdom, instead of over Nebuchadnezzar's disobedience; thereby projecting Gentile domination over God's Kingdom developments over 2,520 years instead of over 3½ years in this decade. (Dan 11:14). Thereby changing the times and law of God.

(4) Appointing satan's 'seed' as 'elders' in congregations and misleading mankind to do obeisance to these unsealed ones in God's congregations; falsely appointing themselves and misusing Ezra 3:8 as their license. Thereby changing the laws of God and shifting the responsibilities from God's faithful anointed sons in the congregations to themselves.

(5) Teaching all those baptized in their congregational "houses" that they are holy, so that they progressively perish in the rebellious talk of Korah (Num 16:1-4. Jude V.4,11), and while they acquire a house of "intense lovers" of themselves.

(6) Teaching their "lying sign" of the "time of the end" as beginning around 1914, instead of the "time of the end" being the last year ("time") of the 3½ years (3½ "times") and the end of the "trampling" of God's anointed sons. (Dan 11:14).

(7) Their baptizing ('offerings' to God) during a period when Christ was deprived by them of his "daily sacrifice" (Dan 8:11,12 Moffatt), and by their powerful work which resulted in their removal of God's "sanctuary" class. Those who removed anointed brothers substituting for Christ proved themselves lawless ones that could not be subjected by him, and their baptisms were for the purpose of being dead ones. (1 Cor 15:28,29). These lawless ones and their lawlessness "the Lord Jesus will do away with by the spirit of his mouth and bring to nothing by the manifestation of his presence". (2 Thess 2:8).
