Offering up a female "ruined one" in preference to a sanctified
male from the "flock" of "sheep"-like ones in his care.

Offering oneself in dedication to do the Will of God while at the same time
offering in service to God a "ruined one".
(1:14). Females of "that woman Jezebel" today who teach and exercise authority over men to mislead and compromise slaves of God. (1:14. Rev 2:20-23). Self-exalted apostate priests. (1:6 & 2:1).
If priests reject heartfelt repentance and obedience.
(2:2). Punishing those in whom apostate teachings have been "sown" by apostate priests despising the Name of God. (2:3 & 1:6). Making public the "dung"-like offences of apostate priests, scattering this "dung" upon their "faces" before the people, and upon their festivals. (2:3).
This writer is making public the gravity of their offences against God.
(2:3). Apostate priests changing the "times and law" of God to promote their apostasy and cause many to "stumble in the law". (2:8,9. Dan 7:25). Apostate priests have taken possession of members of "that woman Jezebel" who is the "daughter" of a "foreign god" (baal) as their "bride" rather than become members of the "bride" of Christ. (2:11. Rev 2:20-23 & 21:9,10). Aware of these profanations against God but allows them to continue. (2:12)
Continuing to profane God after receiving corrective instruction.
(2:12). Faithful anointed sons of God. (2:12). One turned away from fearing Jehovah by apostate priests. (3:5). Spirit disciplines from God issued to each anointed member of the spiritual "body" of The Christ to sanctify them for priestly service. (3:8-10).
