ADDRESSED TO: THOSE CALLED TO BE ANOINTED ONES ARE YOU ACTING AS PRIESTS OF
JEHOVAH BUT From verse 6 of Malachi chapter 1 the warnings are addressed to those who consider themselves part of spiritual "Israel" of the "tents of Jacob" but who refuse to faithfully serve as His priests today. (Rev 5:9,10). They are certainly not addressed to those of "Edom", for they never were of the spiritual nation of "Israel". (Mal 1:2,3). Because of their treachery and cunning, the sins being offered to God by unfaithful ones today, in fulfilment of the prophecy of Malachi, are described below:
(1) Dealing
treacherously with fellow members of the "new covenant" by refusing to receive
and
(2) Robbing
Jehovah of His Spirit for the people in these "tenth parts" and
polluting His
(3) Resulting
in many called to be anointed ones having "taken possession of the
daughter (4) Dealing treacherously with the wife of one's covenant, allowing them to teach. (Mal 2:14). Jehovah
says He will "cut off each one that does it, one who is awake and one who
is answering, from the tents of Jacob, and one who is presenting a gift offering
to Jehovah of armies." (Mal 2:12); meaning, anyone doing these things
along with mere lip service to God. Elijah was used by Jehovah to clear away
unacceptable offerings from faithless priests upon His "altar". (Mal
1:10). Suppose, as is the teaching of the sect of JWs today, that
all anointed ones are of the "Elijah" class. Then who
are the priests? "Elijah" today would have to be one who conveys
Jehovah's disciplines with the Spirit of Elijah, and who would feel as though he
is the only faithful one left alive not already killed by "Jezebel"
teachings or bending the knee to the "foreign god" of unsealed
'elders'. One who has the
Spirit of Elijah today would have courage and jealousy for Jehovah If those acting as priests "will not listen" and refuse to "lay it to heart" by their repentance (correcting these things), Jehovah has said He will "curse your blessings". (Mal 2:2). Being cut off by Jehovah is not the same as being cut off from among His people. It is everlasting. While the disobedience of women continues and they are permitted authority to teach within families and congregations, the hearts of fathers will not be turned back toward their sons, or sons toward their fathers. (Mal 4:5,6). Consequently, Jehovah's disciplines for everlasting life are not being implemented to free people from "Adam and Eve"-type disobedience: The failure of men to carry out their God-given responsibilities, and of women being allowed to usurp man's authority, keeps both bound to the enslavement of corruption.
