(Cont. from Page 807). 808. "ALL SCRIPTURE IS INSPIRED OF GOD AND BENEFICIAL FOR TEACHING, FOR REPROVING, FOR SETTING THINGS STRAIGHT, FOR DISCIPLINING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS." (2 Tim 3:16). As to those who claim to be witnesses of Jehovah, they would not be among those women who are teaching from God's Word as they answer questions at congregation meetings, teaching His Word to their authority the man, or teaching wives or their offspring over whom man is their head. (1 Cor 11:3). This is what millions of those calling themselves Jehovah's Witnesses are still doing as a sign of their disobedience. For Christian obedience in women is shown with headcoverings as its outward sign. (1 Cor 11:3,5,10,13). We are to become doers of the word and not merely hearers only, deceiving ourselves with false reasoning. Their will and belief that a headcovering gives a woman authority to teach, even men, is an offence against God, His Son, and mankind. For by this teaching of disobedience the sect of JWs have already proven they have opened their doors to the Jezebel-type woman and are spiritually committing "adultery" with her. (Rev 2:20). Evidence of Christ's subjecting of us through the knowledge of God's Word is shown in word and deed by those loving their obedience to our Heavenly Father. However, if after receiving accurate knowledge one wilfully continues to practice such sins, God's undeserved kindness through Jesus Christ would not be of benefit in freeing that one from the things that enslave. (2 Peter 2:21). For there is certainly a great deal more than first appears behind Jehovah's requirements as to headcoverings as a 'sign' of subjection of the woman to the man. Please read God's words to Adam in Genesis 3:17. For you men in this sect are still listening to the 'voices' of your wives. (See JW book: 'Life Everlasting' book pg.49 par.27 to pg.50 par.28). (Heb 10:26). There is no safety in putting one's trust in numbers, when they too are disobedient. Obey God as ruler rather than men. (Acts 5:29). Among Jesus' anointed brothers there are still those who do not show a spirit of cowardice among His people.

pg.253 par.17 to pg.255 par.20 (1) Although Paul was answering a letter from his Corinthian brothers, the scriptures of 1 Corinthians 7:1 and 11:10 do not in any way allow women to pray aloud in congregations. Prophets (and there were no prophetesses) could at that time prophesy aloud in their meetings, but in an orderly and controlled way. (1 Cor 14:32-35).(2) As regards His headship arrangement of 1 Corinthians Ch.14, Jehovah does not make partial distinctions as to places, buildings, distances away from meeting places (as in house to house preaching or teaching), or people, when they are gathered together in Jesus' name (of two or more). (Matt 18:20). To suggest that certain meetings may have differed concerning headcoverings is erroneous and misleading. The limitation mentioned in 1 Timothy 2:11-15 placed upon women in the congregation is a safeguard for their spiritual health, and freedom from certain temptations. Obedience to the headship arrangement serves to prevent women from being tempted into misleading His slaves to commit "fornication" and eat "things sacrificed to idols". (Rev 2:20). "For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but powerful by God for overturning strongly entrenched things. For we are overturning reasonings and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God; and we are bringing every thought into captivity to make it obedient to the Christ". (2 Cor 10:4,5). 24/6/77. |
