803. JONADABS. ARE YOU PEOPLE THINKING TO BUILD HIS SPIRITUAL HOUSE, SOW HIS SPIRITUAL SEED, PLANTING HIS SPIRITUAL VINEYARD? OR WILL YOU RESIDE AS ALIENS AND KEEP OBEYING THE VOICE OF JEHONADAB THE SON OF RECHAB YOUR FOREFATHER IN EVERYTHING THAT HE COMMANDED YOU? Jonadab, a man who stood by King Jehu while clearing Israel of all rivals of Jehovah, was the forefather of the Jonadab people. Jehovah spoke through the prophet Jeremiah to the Jonadab people saying: "There will not be cut off from Jonadab the son of Rechab a man to stand before me always". (Jer 35:19). Who belongs to that Jonadab class today, and what should they be doing to find favour with Jehovah and Christ Jesus? Jeremiah 35:6,7 reads: "But they said: We shall drink no wine, because Jonadab the son of Rechab, our forefather, was the one that laid the command upon us, saying, 'You must drink no wine, neither you nor your sons, to time indefinite. And no house must you build, and no seed must you sow; and no vineyard must you plant, nor must it come to be yours. But in tents you should dwell all your days, in order that you may keep living many days upon the surface of the ground where you are residing as aliens'". Those of you who want to be obedient to the reality of these commands should understand what these things mean. The "wine" of the true "vine" is that which Christ Jesus used to symbolise his blood of the "new covenant", and of which only his anointed brothers partake, being of the one "body" as heirs with him. (Luke 22:20,28-30). After drinking the wine Jesus said he would no more drink of the product of the vine until the day he drinks it new with his brothers, the 144,000, in the Kingdom of his Father. (Matt 26:29). This reveals why the Jonadab class would not drink this particular "wine" and would reside temporarily (in tents) and would not build within this permanent house, in the spiritual land or estate of spiritual Israelites. As Jesus' brothers these spiritual Israelites are part of the spiritual "vine" in the "land" of God's heavenly Kingdom. Christ Jesus is the "vine" and his anointed brothers are the branches spoken of in John 15:1-10. Those anointed that bear good spiritual fruitage are remaining in union with the "vine", Christ, and are in union with the Father, Jehovah. (John 15:1,2). Neither can these Jonadab sheep "sow spiritual seed", since the "seed" is the Holy Spirit (His reproductive "seed") which remains in the one born from God (1 John 3:9), and which causes such ones to cease practicing sin as they are progressively cleansed by the Spirit of Jehovah. (1 Thess 4:7,8). Only obedient spiritual Israelites are Jehovah's anointed sons of the Kingdom that make up the spiritual "household of God", through whom the Jonadab "sheep" are taught (as alien residents in the spiritual land of anointed ones today). (Rev 3:9,10). Those of the Jonadab class who prove obedient at Christ's coming (also during his presence) will be gathered to the right hand of Christ Jesus because of the loving way in which they treated the "least" (least in spiritual abilities) of his anointed brothers. (Matt 25:31-46). (Cont. on Page 804). 3/3/77. |
