800. MINISTERING THE "GOOD NEWS". (WOMEN). "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor freeman, their is neither male nor female: for you are all one (person) in union with Christ Jesus. Moreover, if you belong to Christ, you are really Abraham's seed, heirs with reference to a promise". (Gal 3:28,29). But while a woman may be of Abraham's seed "in union with Christ Jesus", it is not possible for a woman to be of the "seed" of God's heavenly "woman" -- for this "seed" are the 144,000 Spirit begotten sons of God. (Read Gal 4:4-7. Rev 7:4. 1 Cor 12:13). Woman's place has been incorrectly explained in the publications: 'Then is Finished the Mystery of God' (pg. 233 par.2) and 'Aid to Bible Understanding' (pg. 726) ('Woman's Place'), which states: '…if a woman prays or prophesies in the congregation, occupying a position God has assigned to the man, she should have on a head covering. In temporarily doing these things because no dedicated male Christian is present to do them…' But the unchangeable instruction from our Lord is that there is no provision for women under any circumstances to be allowed to even speak in a congregation. As it is written: "As in all the congregations of the holy ones, let the women keep silent in the congregations". (From 1 Cor 14:34,37). Further in this regard as respects men and women, the Greek Interlinear Translation says: "head but of women the male person", and is referring to all men and all women in the general sense and context (1 Cor 11:3). But in the New World Translation it is incorrectly expressed as: "the head of a woman is the man", which in the singular tense is contradictory. This scripture refers to the family headship arrangement, and it should be taught that God's glory is man, who is head of woman, who is in turn man's glory. As to their own families, family (male) headship has precedence over other dedicated males in both the spiritual and fleshly sense. (1 Cor 14:35). Where a woman has no husband, then an anointed brother can lead her about as a sister (only in the Lord). (1 Cor 9:5 Greek Translation). WOMEN FEATURED
IN THE SCRIPTURES:
Phoebe was a servant helper, not a minister of the congregation. Acts 21:8,9: Philip's daughters possessed the gift of prophecy, not teaching. (NEB). Joel 2:28,31: This scripture is yet to be fulfilled at the "time of the end", just before the coming of God. (See Acts 2:16,17). The New World translation of Psalms 68:11 cannot be confirmed by any other Bible translations. What the women of that time told as good news is not described, and the "good news" of The Christ had yet to be revealed. (See Page 842 and NEB footnote). Revelation 19:10 NWT has been incorrectly translated. (See Page 785 for details). (Cont. on Page 801). 13/2/77. |
