666F. The observance of the Lord's evening meal each year, replaced the previous symbolic Passover meal; on Nisan 14 (March/April) at the first full moon after the Spring Equinox, after sundown. (See Luke 22:15-20. 1 Cor 11:23-32). So really, what is this: CELEBRATION OF -- CHRISTMAS? Why do people still eagerly await and celebrate what they call Christmas? It has nothing at all to do with the Firstborn Son of God. Christ himself only inaugurated the partaking of his meal, the Lord's evening meal, which was to annually bring to remembrance the reasons and meanings of his sacrificial course and death. Not his birth. The inauguration of the Lord's evening meal began the new covenant (agreement) and replaced the old covenant. It is a covenant agreement for the gathering of 144,000 heavenly Kingdom members of God's future government by Christ. The heavenly name of the Firstborn Son of God is Michael (Michael means: Who is like God). The word Christ is a title, not a name. Jesus became The Christ at the time of his baptism. (Christ: The anointed one). There are 144,000 anointed ones. UNENLIGHTENED ONES CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS. The climax of what is so-called the 'spirit' of Christmas comes and goes without any lasting personal benefit of any kind as to experiencing true joy in one's feelings. There is no reason or requirement whatsoever for giving the titled name of the Son of God to this annual festival of December 25th or to blame its disappointments on The Christ, or God; as it is not according to God's Will. His Will: To "measure" oneself scripturally with regard to those in attendance at The Lord's meal; especially as regards the "body" members of The Christ, his brothers still alive on earth, and their work. (1 Peter 2:9. Matt 25:34-36). The following are two quotations from Hutchinson's 20th Century Encyclopaedia: 'In Britain, Dec. 25 has been kept as a festival since long before the introduction of Christianity… Many of the popular usage's have a heathen origin. The Yule log was taken from the pagan Norse festival. The holly, ivy, and mistletoe used to decorate churches and homes are symbols of fertility with their winter berries. Fir trees used to adorn the Roman Saturnalia, but their use as Christmas trees in England is said to date only from their introduction by Prince Albert in the last century. Christmas puddings and cakes date from the Middle Ages. Carols were originally secular songs, until the Franciscans succeeded in giving them a religious application. Santa Claus is a corruption of St Nicolaus, patron saint of children...' This is what The Christ warned: "So you, also, have those holding fast the teaching of the sect of Nicolaus likewise. Therefore repent". (Rev 2:15 NWT). (Cont. on Page 666G). 14/9/80. |
